Our Servo Motor Rebuilding Process
Most of the time when we receive a servo motor in need of repair, it’s broken, dirty, and corrupted. We begin with dynamic back drive testing to ascertain exactly what the problems are with your servo motor. We’ll provide you with a copy of the diagnostics so you can see what the faults were and what course of action we took. Before we begin repairs, we send you a quote for your approval. As soon as we receive your purchase order, we begin a thorough cleaning and repair process. For each repair, we completely dismantle the servo motor. This enables us to examine, repair, and/or replace every part, down to the seals and gaskets. If necessary, we use replacement parts that meet the original manufacturer specifications. Our Connecticut servo repair station features a custom-built clean room that keeps dirt, grease, dust, and other contaminants from getting into your motor during the repair process. Once the motor is in perfect working quality, we repaint it and add a new name plate so that it looks factory-fresh. Before sending your motor back to you, we perform OEM quality testing to make sure that every detail is perfect. This way, we ensure that your repaired servo motor looks and works like new.
Servo Quality Testing
One of the most important parts of our servo repair process is the quality testing. Because we focus exclusively on servo and spindle motors, we’ve been able to invest in the highest-quality testing equipment. After completing a rebuild, we test each motor using a factory drive, rather than just a generic drive. We think it’s important to test your servo motor on the kind of machinery you’ll actually be using it for, so we can be confident it will work perfectly when you receive it. Factory drives are also essential to properly decode the serialized data and encryption that the newest servo models use. In addition to factory drive testing, we perform alignment testing, windings testing, magnet testing, wave pattern testing, and load testing. If you’ve lost track of all these different kinds of tests, don’t worry; we haven’t. We carefully test every aspect of your servo motor so that you can rely on it to perform the work you need.
